Chelsea go top

Chelsea Football Club from Grootfontein took a three point lead at the top of the Otjozondjupa Second Division log after recording two massive victories in Otjiwarongo over the weekend.

On Saturday they thrashed Golden Fire 10-0 in followed that up with an equally convincing 9-4 victory against Life Fighters on Sunday. The former Premier League club, Life Fighters, are clearly struggling and according to reports their players are not even training at the moment.

With the previous log leaders African Lions of Otjiwarongo inactive last weekend, Chelsea have now taken the lead with 19 points after seven matches, while African Lions are on 16 points from six matches.

Otjiwarongo FC lost 2-1 to Air Masters in Grootfontein on Saturday, but were back to winning ways on Sunday when they beat Cosmos FC 2-0 in Otavi. The three points put Otjiwarongo in third position on the log on 10 points, just ahead of Air Masters on goal difference.

In the biggest surprise of the weekend, Silent Killers moved off the foot of the table after collecting four points.
They had lost their first five games in a row, conceding 31 goals in the process, but on Saturday they recorded their first victory of the season when they beat Cosmos 4-3. The next day they held Flying Eagles to a goalless draw, which saw them moving two places up to tenth position, while Cosmos have now moved to the bottom of the log.

Osire United joined Cosmos in the relegation zone after losing 4-2 to Flying Eagles on Saturday.

In Osire, Osire Unted took on struggling Flying Eagles FC. Flying Eagles however managed to get to grips with the sand pitch and whipped aside Osire by 4-2.

On Sunday, Golden Fire from Otjiwarongo collected three points without kicking a ball after Equal Rights from Otavi failed to turn up for their match.
