OFC Under 7 TeamOtjiwarongo FC dominates home tournament

During the last weekend the Otjiwarongo FC Youth Tournament was held at the Paresis Sports Fields. Excellent weather and a great atmosphere made this tournament a real occasion.

A total number of 48 teams participated in this year’s event, making it the biggest ever youth tournament being staged by OFC. It was a tournament with great spirit and a real family event, which set an example for youth football.

As in the previous Windhoek Tournament it was evident that the winner will again be decided between the OFC and SFC boys. This time around it were Otjiwarongo who got the upper hand and won the deciding match, taking the under 7 trophy and winning a cup for the first time in 5 years for Otjiwarongo FC at a home tournament. Final Results: 1. OFC, 2. SFC, 3. SKW B

Record number of teams competing in 2009

OFC Youth Tournament 2009

The Otjiwarongo FC Youth Tournament will be staged this weekend 13-14 June 2009 at the Paresis Sports Grounds in Otjiwarongo.

A record number of 48 teams registered for this years tournament, for the age groups under 7 to under 17. A total of 100 games will be played during these 2 days.

Unfortunatly the girls category will not be played this year, as not enough teams were available, but there is big hope that from next year on this also will be a success.

Good quality football is expected for the weekend with teams like Otjiwarongo FC, Swakopmund FC, SKW and Ramblers competing for the honours. Favourites will probably be the teams winning their respective age groups during the SKW Youth Tournament in March.
